Reference

In our Writing class we were tasked with writing a reference were we recommend a friend for a job.

   

To whom it may concern,

     I am writing this reference to recommend my friend Mike Rodgers for the student services assistant position at the college. Me and Mike have been friends since childhood and I recognize that he is more than capable for this job.

     Mike is known for being an extremely organized and perfectionist person, he wants every detail to be perfect or up to his standards and will not stop until he achieves it. He has an extensive knowledge when it comes to computers and can handle multiple tasks at once. 

     His previous relevant experience is what gave place to his extensive computer knowledge and organizational skills. His family runs a Tech Shop in which he was required to fix people’s computers when they were brought in. This also helped him develop his organizational and multitasking skills  since he had to fix multiple computers per day and to be able to do it he had to learn by himself how to get organized effectively to maximize the usage of the short amount of time he had.

     Mike’s previous experience with computers is what helped him develop his excelling multitasking and organizational skills that will allow him to easily work with multiple tasks at once in a short amount of time. In addition, he will be able to perform maintenance checks on his computer periodically to ensure that no problems will obstruct him.

     In summary, I have no hesitation in recommending Mike as an assistant since he will be an incredible addition to your staff.
